Is Beth Dutton alive?

At the end of Yellowstone season three, the Dutton family was violently ambushed by unknown gunmen.

Not only were John (played by Kevin Costner) and Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) shot, a bomb went off in Beth’s office.

As Beth was preparing to leave the office, she received a package she immediately found suspicious.

However, it was too late as Beth’s assistant opened the package, triggering the explosion.

Jimmy Hurdstrom’s (Jefferson White) life was also in danger after he was thrown off of a horse and was last seen lying face down in the sand.

But while it seemed John and Kayce survived the attack, Beth’s fate was left unknown.

Ever since fans have been worried British actress Reilly will not be reprising her role in the show’s fourth season.

With filming for the fourth outing already underway in Montana and Utah, Reilly has yet to be spotted on set, only fuelling fears she will not be returning.

But what does this actually mean for Beth Dutton? Will she be making a comeback for season 4 – and is she still alive?

Kelly added to the rumour mill about her character’s fate by posting a cryptic Instagram post after the series finale aired in August.

She posted a picture of her as Beth Dutton, with the caption: “Thank you all who watched season 3. Hope you all enjoy tonight’s finale .. what a wild ride it’s been xx @yellowstone.”

What concerned fans about Beth’s fate was Reilly’s use of the past tense in the post.

Fan’s immediately took to the comment section to praise Reilly’s performance but also share their concern for Beth’s fate.

Yellowstone fans are hopeful Beth is still alive.

However, if Beth does live, it is very likely she will be seriously injured from the blast when season four returns.

There is also the possibility Beth’s death and funeral could be the focus of the first few episodes, with the rest of the season following the Dutton family as they seek revenge.

Fans have been taking to social media to share their theories about Beth’s fate.

One fan tweeted: “Theory for Season 4 of #Yellowstone #YellowstoneTV: Rip will find John Dutton where he was sh0t. Rip and Beth will adopt the boy whose mom had the flat tire (since Beth can’t have children)… that is if Beth is still alive which I’m hoping she is @Yellowstone don’t let me down.”

A third fan added: “I think the little boy is gonna become a Dutton. Beth is dead or damn near, she may live a little while and die and Rip gonna clean house. And I can’t wait to see how he kills Roarke.”
