Amy Harts advice for new Love Island cast: Dont sweat the small stuff

Love Island is finally upon us with a fresh batch of singletons set to enter the brand new Majorcan villa tonight.

While the hopeless romantics will no doubt be in for a fun summer of love, the series won't be without its fair share of drama, thanks to recouplings and the dreaded return of Casa Amor.

As someone who has had plenty of experience within the Love Island bubble, Amy Hart is more than equipped to hand out some valuable advice to the contestants, who are in with the chance of winning a cash at the end of the hit dating show too.

Amy walked in as a 26 year old air hostess who was on the hunt for love, but came out heartbroken after Curtis Pritchard dumped her for Maura Higgins.

Now, four years after her stint on the programme, the 29 year old is better than ever as she's just moved in with her boyfriend Sam Rason, 33, in West Sussex – where she plans on watching the show every night on their cream couch with a hot cuppa.

"I can't wait. We're going to sit and watch it together every night," she told OK! with excitement, before giving some guidance for this year's Islanders.

Amy continued: "If I had to give some advice, I'd say… Brief your friends and family about your Instagram and make sure they know exactly how you want it.

"Get them to show themselves as well, I always love to see who's running it. My best friend Hannah used to do a live once a week. So everyone knew her as well."

She added: "And just try to enjoy it. Don't sweat the small stuff."

While Amy doesn't believe Love Island has changed a great deal since she was on the programme back in 2018, she explained that many go on for a specific reason whether that be for love, career or fun.

"I think some of you stay true to why you're going in there, as long as you don't hurt anyone else along the way…" she said.

One thing many former Islanders deal with today is trolling and Amy is no exception. Speaking about this unfortunate side effect of starring on the show, she shared: "I suppose being on reality TV, it [trolling] does come with the territory a bit, but it shouldn't have to come with the territory.

"I don't understand why people can't just enjoy the show [Love Island] in a positive way. I always put out a notice at the start of each Love Island that says, 'Love Island starts tonight, let's have a good time.
