Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani gave a special acoustic performance of “Nobody But You” on NBC‘s “The Voice” finale last Tuesday (May 19).
The pair performed the song for front line workers at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, from Shelton’s Ole Red venue Oklahoma, where they are currently in quarantine.
“Hey everybody, it’s Blake Shelton here in Tishkomena, Oklahoma. I wanted to say very quickly, thank you to all the Oklahoma regional food banks, frontline workers, thanks to all the food bank workers across this country. You’re out there, you’re taking care of people, and we love you for it,” Shelton said before performing the song.”
“Be sure if you’re watching this to donate to your local food bank.
I’m about to go in here with Gwen Stefani to do a song for you guys.
Let’s do it,” he added.
The Food Bank volunteers appreciated the performance and said, “thank you, Blake and Gwen!”
Shelton also performed John Mellencamp‘s classic “Authority Song” with Todd Tilghman that night, and joined Toneisha Harris later to perform Fleetwood Mac‘s “Don’t Stop.”
“That type of publicity that Blake is giving to the Regional Food Bank and other food banks just means everything,” Cathy Nestlen, a Regional Food Bank representative, said. “He’s got such a reach, and people trust and believe in him, and he’s proven to be a true Oklahoman.”
Nestlen said Shelton’s support went beyond his on-camera performance. She said he made a significant donation to the Food Bank a few weeks ago.
The Jonas Brothers, Bon Jovi, Lady Antebellum, and Bebe Rexha were among the other stars to turn in with at-home performances of their hit singles during the finale on Tuesday.
Shelton and Stefani have made several TV appearances from their home to perform “Nobody But You.”
