Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley have pledged to donate 1 million meals to fight hunger in the United States.
The initiative is a partnership between Feeding America and the food brand Tiller & Hatch, of which the celebrity couple are partners.
It aims to feed more than 60,000 families at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The “Million Meal Donation Tour,” which kicked off in Detroit earlier this month, is scheduled to wind up in Chicago on September 23.
During this period, Tiller & Hatch trucks will visit food banks in 15 cities across the country donating food packets.
“We’re on a mission to help those struggling with hunger and food insecurity. And, due to the pandemic, it’s a real crisis,” said the country music star in a video posted on Instagram on Monday.
“Many people who never thought they’d need food assistance are now seeking it,” according to his actress wife.
“So many of us feel helpless during this time. It just feels like there’s one disaster after another. But it’s been really wonderful for both of us to have this outlet that was coming into fruition. We can’t solve all the problems. But to tackle this issue, it’s been really empowering,” said Kimberly.
