Carol Vorderman, 60, has sparked concern amongst her Twitter followers as she admitted her singing voice now sounds like Marge Simpson due to a sore throat.

The Countdown legend, who appeared on Good Morning Britain today to pay tribute to Captain Sir Tom Moore following the sad news of his death, also caught the attention of viewers who noticed her croaky speech.

Carol shared a clip showcasing her poorly vocals as she struggled to sing You Are My Sunshine by Johnny Cash.

Seeing the funny side of the situation, she penned: “Me with a sore throat doing Marge @TheSimpsons singing YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE.”

Many fans took to the comments section of her tweet, which she shared with her 456,000 followers yesterday, to share their concern for the star.

One person wrote: “I love your attitude and sense of humour. I hope your throat clears up soon.”

Another added: “You still have a gorgeous voice, get better soon,, x.”

A third person commented: “Oh dear Carol hot water, lemon and honey.”

A fourth replied: “Book yourself a test Carol, just to be sure. #COVID19.”

It comes as Carol sparked rumours that she is Dragon on The Masked Singer UK 2021 after a series of clues on the ITV show prompted guest judge Alan Carr to guess she was behind the mask.
