Charley Webb addresses rows with husband in lockdown as she admits ‘we’re not romantic’

Charley Webb asks for advice on her son’s ‘tantrums’

Emmerdale actress Charley Webb, 32, and her co-star husband Matthew Wolfenden, 40, share three sons together; 10-year-old son Buster, Bowie, five, and Ace, who is 19 months old. The pair admitted being at home together more often than usual in lockdown had been taking its toll, but this hasn’t put them off wanting more children in the future.

We just don’t need to do all those sorts of gestures

The couple will celebrate their third wedding anniversary together this week, but admitted romantic gestures are not often on the cards.

The actress said: “I think we’ve been together for so long. We’re at that stage where we’ve got kids…

Matthew chimed in, joking: “We’re bored of each other, is that what you’re trying to say?”

Charley replied: “Yes! But there is a sense that we’re so comfortable with each other we just don’t need to do all those sorts of gestures.

“We’ve been together 15 years and we’re a team and a partnership. If Matthew bought me something, I’d be like, ‘What have you done?’ We’re not the most romantic couple.

“In a lot of ways, I think that’s why it works, because we don’t put any pressure on our relationship.”

In their latest chat with OK! Magazine, the pair opened up on arguments they had been having at home.

The Debbie Dingle star said their main arguments were either about the house or the kids.

Matthew explained: “It is hard and we have argued. You’re bound to argue when you’re stuck in a house 24/7 with three kids and they are playing up.

“We’ve had our little moments but I’ve not spoken to one person who hasn’t.”

Despite their tiffs in lockdown, the couple said it hasn’t put them off having more children in the future.

Matthew said the decision was “down to Charley” but admitted he would love to have a daughter.

“It’d be nice to experience a little girl but you can’t choose and you just want a healthy baby,” she added.

“I feel like I’m destined to have boys.”

Charley regularly gives fans an insight into her family life on Instagram, where she has 488,000 followers.

Last week, the actress asked for help about her youngest son’s tantrums.

She said on her Story: “He’s started having massive tantrums, he yanks my hair out and bites me in full temper.

“I have no idea how to deal with this,” she added, appearing stressed.

“I don’t remember the other two doing that at this age or at an age where they don’t quite understand yet.

“Where has he got it from? I’d love some advice please, anything.”

The mum-of-three was advised to speak to her son calmly and give him cuddles, while another said the phase was “normal” at Ace’s age.
