Farmhand Kaleb Cooper has revealed this Christmas will be slightly different due to a difficult family loss. The Clarkson’s Farm star spoke about how he would be spending his Christmas with the rest of the Cooper clan.

Kaleb has become something of a TV star after appearing in Jeremy Clarkson’s hit Amazon series, Clarkson’s Farm.

Jeremy, who hosted Top Gear for many years before exiting the show after a well-documented dispute, has since found his footing in the world of farming.

The car enthusiast has even been praised by farmers for his show, which sees him attempt to successfully run Diddly Squat Farm, which is located in the Cotswolds.

Kaleb, who has helped Jeremy on the farm since he took on the project, shared his Christmas plans in an article for The Sunday Times.

The star has admitted to “taking a break” this year from getting up at three in the morning to help dairy farmers, which has been his routine for the last three Christmases.

However, he did say that he will be “tending to Jeremy’s cows” before he opens any presents, which still involves feeding them, cleaning their shed and changing their bedding.

Kaleb confessed he is “looking forward to a lie-in till dawn at least”, as “Jeremy’s are beef cows not dairy cows so they don’t need milking”.

The farming expert then went on to detail the heartbreaking reason his Christmas wouldn’t be the same this year.

“I’ll have lunch at my mum’s – Rachael – with my other half, Taya, who’s a dog groomer, and Oscar, my nine-month-old,” he began.

“I lost my gramp this year, so it’s going to be a little bit strange. He was like the role model in my life.”

Kaleb added he would later meet up with his father, Mark, for a game of rummy in the afternoon following his small family lunch.

The 23-year-old also admitted that, after a decade of working on farms, he felt he might have been forced to grow up too quickly.

“To be honest with you, I think I grew up too quickly because of family stuff that was going on,” he wrote.

“I had to step up and help with the bills. I got my own chickens and sold eggs on Saturday mornings and that paid the electric.

“But I don’t regret anything I’ve done in terms of growing up.”

The Clarkson’s Farm star shared his plans to buy his own farm, admitting that he has already been saving up.

In 2008 former Top Gear presenter Jeremy purchased a thousand-acre area of land in Oxfordshire and employed a local man to carry out all farming duties.

However, when the farmer decided to retire, it spurred on the TV personality to take it over himself and create his own show documenting the experience.

The series turned out to be a smash hit for the motor-enthusiast, even receiving positive reviews from the likes of Environment Secretary George Eustice.

Clarkson’s Farm has earned Jeremy the title of Farming Champion of the Year by the National Farmers’ Union, and has launched his sidekick Kaleb into stardom.
