Viewers were left stunned when it was casually announced that Caprice Bourret and skating partner Hamish Gaman had parted ways during a live episode of Dancing On Ice.
And while one report in The Sun had claimed that the reason behind the split was due to Caprice’s backstage behaviour, a rep for the star has told New magazine that simply isn’t the case.
A source told The Sun: “Caprice was mean to Hamish during rehearsals – it was often in front of other cast and crew – and he was left very upset by it because he's such a professional and a gentle giant.

Dancing On Ice's Dan Whiston says Joe Swash is going through emotional 'rollercoaster'
“Hamish was walking on egg shells a lot of the time – he felt Caprice seemed to struggle with the demands of the show and described her as a bit of a diva because she would tell him off a lot and just generally thought she was above it all.
“She was also reluctant to put in the hours or effort which led to tensions between them.
“Hamish found it difficult dealing with her, but he wasn't the only one – Caprice isn't well-liked backstage.
"It's a shame as Hamish is very popular and all of his other celebrity partners have always loved him because he's so kind and patient."
But a spokesperson for the former glamour model told New that rumours of diva-like behaviour aren’t true.
Caprice’s rep said: “If she’s a diva and lazy how can she produce the sort of performance she did on her first skate? It doesn’t make sense.
“She is very hard-working, down-to-earth, driven and passionate about everything she does. Caprice is the total opposite of a diva.”
The mum-of-two has since been partnered with new skating professional Oscar Peter on the show.
The star also appeared to shut down any suggestion she was to blame when she liked a series of tweets from friends dismissing rumours she’d been difficult.
One read: “I have met her many times and she’s been nothing but kind, generous, happy and warm. I always enjoy seeing her.” Another said, “Cap is the dream, the kindest friend you could want to have.”

Her showbiz pal Duncan James also showed his support, tweeting: “You are one of the loveliest people I know. So proud of you for all you have done and continue to do.”
Another insider even claimed to The Sun it was actually Caprice who “felt bullied”.
The source said: “She struggled to understand Hamish’s complicated instructions and said she felt he was berating her when she couldn’t pick up the moves as easily as some of the other celebs.”
