Gemma Atkinson shows her postpartum bump
Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Gemma Atkinson has revealed that she hopes her pro dancer fiancé Gorka Marquez has “chemistry” with his dance partner on the upcoming season of the ratings winning programme.
The couple met when Gemma was a contestant on the Saturday night must-watch show in 2017, although they were not paired up as Gemma danced with Aljaz Skorjanec, while Gorka was teamed with singer Alexandra Burke.
Recalling her own experience of the show, the 38-year-old said: “I remember when I had to dance the rumba with Aljaz.
“Everyone said, ‘You have to look into his eyes and get close,’ and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is awful!’. But the dance looked rubbish because I didn’t do it.
“I’m always rooting for them to have chemistry!” she confessed to OK! “I think Gorka and I are very lucky in that we’re both understanding of each other’s jobs.”
