Gemma Atkinson shows her postpartum bump
Gemma Atkinson took to Instagram to share an honest update with her followers after deciding to stop breastfeeding her five-week-old son, Thiago.
Gemma, 38, explained to her 1.9 million fans that she was sitting with iced cabbage on her chest as she began sending her milk back.
The former Emmerdale star wrote: “Bittersweet as I know it’s the last time feeding for me as [Gorka and I] are done on the baby front, so part of me is a little sad and the other part is relieved.
“If you’ve ever breastfed when at times it’s been quite difficult and sometimes painful you’ll get what I mean!”
The Strictly Come Dancing alum has prepared for the weaning process by storing a week’s worth of expressed milk in the freezer.

She continued that she’s now looking forward to her “boobs going back to normal size”, getting rid of her backache and letting Gorka, 32, do some of the night feeds.
Gemma added: “In five weeks he’s gone from 7lb 13 to almost 11lb so I’ve fattened him up nicely…
“I’ve always said [breastfeeding] is a personal choice and one you and you alone should make. They are your boobies and your babies so YOU decided…
“I know some people are made to feel guilty and it really isn’t fair. Especially as you feel so vulnerable anyway with a new baby.”

Thiago is Gemma and Gorka’s second child following the birth of Mia in 2019.
The couple met on Strictly in 2017 and Gorka proposed on Valentine’s Day in 2021.
However, Gemma said in a new update that she is in no rush to walk down the aisle, telling OK! Magazine: “We’re quite chilled with it all. We have two babies. I’m not really fussed by a white wedding.
“A nice little quiet affair with friends and family and we’ll be happy.”
Gorka will soon return to TV screens for the new series of the BBC dance show, and Gemma confesses she wants him to have “chemistry” with his new partner.
She added to the outlet: “I remember when I had to dance the rumba with Aljaž, everyone said, ‘You have to look into his eyes and get close,’ and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is awful!’
“The dance looked rubbish because I didn’t do it. I’m always rooting for them to have chemistry. I think Gorka and I are very lucky in that we’re both understanding of each other’s jobs.”
