Love Actually actor Hugh Grant, 60, has reflected on the time he was caught with sex worker Divine Brown in 1995. The star has now revealed the liaison was prompted by his frustrations after watching his own film, Nine Months.
After attending a screening of the film, which was his first Hollywood movie, Hugh sought out Divine.
The duo were later arrested for engaging in a sex act in a car on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Hugh opened up about his state of mind at the time in a new interview.
He explained: “I was about to launch my first Hollywood film – my timing was impeccable.

“My problem was – that was my first Hollywood film and I’d just been to see it.
“The film was about to come out a week or two after that, and I had a bad feeling about it. I went to see a screening.
“Everyone in it was brilliant, but I was so atrocious that I was not in a good frame of mind.”
The Undoing actor went on to reveal that due to his bad mood over the film, he decided to drown his sorrows before “one thing led to another”.
He continued while speaking on the WTF podcast with Marc Maron: “I had a Ken Russell kind of lunch – and one thing led to another. I just was disappointed in myself.
“I don’t know what was going on. It was called Nine Months.”
However, Hugh’s concerns about the movie were unfounded, as it became a hit at the box office two weeks following the incident.
“The film did alright at the box office, in fact I think it did quite well, and that’s all Hollywood really cares about,” he added.

“They don’t care what you get up to so long as you make them money.”
After he was arrested, Hugh apologised for his actions in a statement.
“Last night I did something completely insane,” he said at the time.
“I have hurt people I love and embarrassed people I work with. For both things I am more sorry than I can ever possibly say.”
He then pleaded no contest and was fined $1,180.
The actor was also placed on two years’ summary probation by Judge Robert J Sandoval.
Divine was ordered to attend an AIDS class, perform five days of community service, pay $1,150 for parole violations, and spend 180 days in jail.
Hugh is now married to Anna Elisabet Eberstein and has five children, and has changed his ways since his arrest.
While chatting on the podcast, he revealed that there isn’t much room for him to “misbehave” in his life now.
