NTAs: Bobby Brazier makes Dad cry with acceptance speech
Jade Goody expressed concerns for her sons Bobby and Freddie Brazier’s future upon learning the news she had cervical cancer aged 27.
The Big Brother star feared her sons would “never know how much I love them” and worried how they’d cope without a mother, in her book Forever in My Heart: The Story Of My Battle Against Cancer, which was published after her death in 2009.
Jade was pregnant with her second son with Jeff Brazier when they split after two years together in 2004.
At the time of her death she was married to Jack Tweed, who also appeared on Big Brother.
In an extract from her book, Jade said of her sons: “I keep thinking about what will happen to my boys if I am not here any more. Yes, they would go and live with Jeff – but even thinking about it tears me apart.

“Not because he can’t do it, but because my kids are only little and they need their mum. Whatever else I may be, I know I’m a b****y good mum. I am their rock. They only go and see their dad every other weekend.
“I teach them manners, take them to football, tell them off if they’re naughty, and read their bedtime stories. There is no one else who can do it like I can.
“I worry if I’m not here to do it, will it be done properly? Will they have the right school uniform and eat up their dinners? Oh god – what if the worst happens and they forget me? Freddy is only four, so he won’t remember much. Bobby is a bit more grown-up and realises more is wrong.”
Jade went on to say she worried about her sons not knowing how proud she was of them, telling readers they were “the best thing I have ever achieved”.
“It’s like a whole new world of pain whenever I think about it,” she added.

The reality star lost her life to cervical cancer on Mother’s Day in 2009 when Bobby Brazier was five and Freddy was four.
They have since been raised by their dad Jeff, who was left in tears following their eldest son’s win at the National Television Awards on Tuesday night.
Despite Jade’s concerns, Bobby, now 20, has followed in his parents’ successful footsteps as a model and actor and currently plays Freddie Slater in EastEnders.
After winning the Rising Star award for his acting debut, he gave an emotional speech in which he praised his dad for the inspirational “because I can” attitude he installed into his sons.
Proud dad Jeff was seen being consoled by Molly Rainford as he wiped away tears from the audience and later thanked “everyone who has followed our journey and continues to look out for these boys” in an emotional Instagram post.
Bobby has previously said he doesn’t really remember his mum, but has plans to pay tribute to her when he takes to the Strictly Come Dancing floor later this month.
When asked which songs he would like to dance to, he told press: “There’s a few – it depends on the mood. Saturday Love and also This Woman’s Worth by Maxwell – that would be beautiful, I’d hope to make people cry doing that.
“Maybe I’ll dedicate that one [to my mum]. I haven’t thought about it, but maybe that one.”
Meanwhile, Bobby’s brother Freddie tends to lead a quieter life away from the spotlight, but garnered attention with his debut fashion shoot for Hero Magazine back in 2021.
