Kate Middleton ‘Did Little To Bridge The Divide’ With Meghan Markle As Latter Joined Royal Family

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton never exactly saw eye-to-eye from, ohhhh, right about the time Meghan first officially joined the royal family and married Prince Harry!

We can be more sure of this now because of a new excerpt released from an upcoming book which appeared in a UK newspaper, the Sunday Times, over the weekend. The excerpt goes into painstaking detail about several things — one of which has to do with tension between Princes William and Harry, as well as the relationship between their two wives.

The book, Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, contends that the two wives never quite saw things the same way from the start. And while that rift isn’t exactly Kate’s fault, per se, some of the expectations for a smooth, healthy relationship do necessarily fall on her considering she was the ‘veteran’ in this instance.

The book’s authors, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, noted how the two women were “not at war with each other,” though admitted each one suffered some “awkward moments” that ultimately helped define their relationship. That included (below):

“Though it was not necessarily her responsibility, Kate did little to bridge the divide. They didn’t in common other than the fact that they lived at Kensington Palace.”

Interesting! Sounds like Kate didn’t exactly roll out the welcome carpet and make things feel more at-home and available for her newer, younger counterpart.

Oh, well… what’s all that “stiff upper lip” stuff we keep hearing about with the royal family? Just gotta be tough sometimes and push through it, right?!

Maybe it’s no wonder why Meghan and Harry opted to duck that lifestyle altogether and do their own thing after too long. We understand!

The news continues on from there, with another source further alleging that Harry got more and more pissed off after the royal family and its long-standing institutions never fully stood up for him and his young wife. An insider told the authors:

“Harry felt that there were so many occasions when the institution and his family could have helped them, stood up for them, backed them up, and never did.”

And now, well, here we are!

BTW, dirt or not, a spokesperson for Meghan and Harry previously released a statement about their (alleged lack of) involvement in this book, saying:

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to Finding Freedom. This book is based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps and their own independent reporting.”

Well then! This isn’t the first excerpt we’ve heard from this book, though, and we have a feeling it certainly won’t be the last… Ready for more, right up until the book gets its first stateside release on August 11!!

What do U think, Perezcious readers?!
