Kerry Katona has revealed she will begin exploring surrogacy next week to have another child as she’s ‘not getting any younger’.
The former Atomic Kitten singer, 40, revealed that she is looking into what surrogacy entails in order to have her sixth child.
She revealed in New! magazine: ‘I’m having a call with a surrogacy company because I want to find out what the next steps are.
‘I’m not getting any younger and I don’t want to be a mum in my sixties taking her kid to school.
‘So once I know all the steps I have to take, it will give me a good 20 years to be with my child. It’s exciting. I’ll know a bit more next week!’
Kerry is speaking to the company created by Tony and Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, the UK’s first gay couple to welcome a child via surrogacy and has a list of questions she is planning to ask, including whether she will need to extract her own eggs and how old she can be to do it.
She is already mother to five children – Molly, 19 and Lilly-Sue, 18, with ex-husband Brian McFadden, Heidi, 13 and Maxwell, 12, with ex Mark Croft, and Dylan-Jorge, six, with the late George Kay.
Kerry is currently engaged to Ryan Mahoney, 32, and the new baby would be their first child together.
It comes after Kerry revealed she couldn’t wait to go under the knife for a breast reduction, admitting her implants were ‘bigger than her head’ and causing agony in her back.
She has revealed that as well as getting her breasts redone, she is planning a full ‘MOT’ and having the rest of her body overhauled too.
She said in her latest column for the magazine: ‘I’m also going under the knife in July for my boob reduction, so I’m going to tell him to tuck and suck everything on my tum while I’m there. It’s like going in for an MOT.
‘Don’t get me wrong, I embrace my body and I love my stretch marks. But I look at a picture of myself and I think “God, I look a mess.”’
