Lorraine Kelly fears ‘we won’t hear the end of this’ as Piers Morgan tipped for new role

Lorraine Kelly says she’s put on weight ‘in her boobs and bum’

Lorraine Kelly, 61, has taken to Twitter to share her concerns after she discovered her co-star Piers Morgan, 55, has been tipped for a move into politics. The presenter shared a front page story questioning whether Piers should be next in line to be the Prime Minister after he has built up a reputation of holding politicians to account for their handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

The headline read: “As TV’s gobbiest presenter skewers another political pygmy, normally sane people are asking the same question… PM for PM?”

The article went on to reveal that Piers is “being urged to go into politics” like his former friend Donald Trump following his no-nonsense interviews with MPs on GMB.

However, Lorraine seemed more focused on her worries that Piers will not be able to stop going on about the story during tomorrow morning’s episode of Good Morning Britain.

The star, who chats to Piers and his co-host Susanna Reid before fronting her self-titled daytime show each day, retweeted the front page of the Daily Star in view of her 626,000 followers this evening.

She wrote alongside it: “We won’t hear the end of this tomorrow! @piersmorgan.”

Fans quickly took to the comments section of Lorraine’s post to share their own thoughts on the reports.

One person commented: “Just say no! Like his questioning but we really don’t need another populist, we’ve just got rid of Trump.”

Another added: “Much as he’d be a nightmare, at least he’d tell it like it is and no bulls***.”

A third person replied: “Poor Lorraine lol.”

A fourth fan said: “Gawd no….”

“This could be fun….” A fifth ITV viewer mused.

Piers has not yet commented on the headline.

It comes after Piers joined Lorraine on her show this morning to discuss the new President of the United States, Joe Biden’s plan to heal a divided country.

Before the duo got onto the subject of politics, Piers spoke about gaining weight over the last year.

“Piers Morgan is right here – it’s very good to see you,” Lorraine introduced.

“We were just talking about lockdown weight issues, and you painted a picture of yourself which actually I found quite appealing,” Piers said.

“Did you?” Lorraine replied. “Do you want to share it with the [viewers?” He asked.

“Okay I will because you’re very naughty,” she said and then explained: “I just said I always put weight on in my boobs and my bum!”

“And I said what are the negatives?” Piers cheekily laughed.

“I can’t get anything fastened Piers!” She exclaimed. I can’t get anything fastened.”

“Unless you’ve got an iron will, lockdown is very hard to motivate yourself,” Piers said.

Agreeing, Lorraine added: “It is and I am just comfort eating.”
