Luke Combs refunded the tickets for his weekend concert in Bangor, Maine, feeling that his performance did not rise to expectations due to severe vocal issues.
The CMA Entertainer of the Year started the show at Maine Savings Amphitheater on Saturday by addressing the crowd to say that he had lost his voice from the night before.
Combs acknowledged that because he didn’t feel he could give his best performance that he would be refunding everyone’s tickets.
“Before we even start playing this show, I have to let you know that I have refunded all of your tickets. As of 7:00 PM, today, a few hours ago, I realized that I’m not going to be able to sing as good as I normally do,” Combs said.
He became tearful as he shared this news and asked for help from the crowd to sing his songs, and the crowd obliged.
He played a shorter set than usual but fans said on social media that he still put on a great show.
