Matt Le Blanc has become the first Friends star to break his silence following the tragic death of Matthew Perry.
The actor starred as Joey Tribbiani alongside Perry’s Chandler Bing for 10 years, with the on-screen characters becoming inseparable best buds and roommates.
On a collection of photos posted on Instagram, the star wrote: “Matthew, It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life.
“It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never.”
“Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love,” he concluded, jokingly adding: “And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”

Until now, the Friends cast have remained silent following Perry’s shock death on October 28, save for one joint statement.
Le Blanc, alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer, all said they would ‘talk more when they are able’.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” their statement read.
“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”

Adding they will ‘say more when they are able’, the message was signed off: “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
The others are yet to speak out since, with some of the cast – notably Cox and Aniston – reportedly struggling with the sudden loss.
The cast later all reunited at Perry’s small and intimate funeral, in which only close friends and family could attend.
