The Sussexes have reunited. Prince Harry touched down back in Canada on Monday night, returning to his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and their son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, as they now begin their life away from the British royal family. Harry spent the last two weeks abroad in London finishing up what’s said to be the last of his remaining duties as a senior royal family member.
According to People, Harry landed at Vancouver International Airport from Heathrow Airport via a commercial British Airways flight. The duke was reported to have touched down at 10 p.m. local time; paparazzi shots showcased a beaming Harry bundled up in a puffer coat and knit beanie as he prepared to head home to his wife and son.
While Harry was en route to return to Canada, Meghan was photographed strolling on a hike with the couple’s eight-month-old son. The duchess quickly pursued legal action against outlets that published the photos, however, with the Sussexes’ legal team describing in official documentation that the photographs were a blatant breach of privacy.
Harry acknowledged the upcoming transition for him and his family from royal life during an event honoring his charity, Sentebale, in London over the weekend.
“The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back is not one I made lightly. It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges,” he said. “And I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option.”
