The One Show host Alex Jones was left cringing after her co-host Jermaine Jenas quizzed Kaley Cuoco on Wednesday 3 March’s show on her career concerns.

The Big Bang Theory star Kaley, 35, joined 43 year old Alex and Jermaine, 38 via video link to discuss her new sitcom-thriller, which is set to air in the UK later this month.

However, football pundit Jermaine couldn’t help but ask Kaley about her fears over the future of her career.

Speaking about the success of American sitcom The Big Bang Theory, Jermaine said: “You know, obviously, the power that age you, the show was so big. Was there concerns about your next step because, we’ve seen it with a few sitcoms, it doesn’t always go too well for the cast?”

Kaley, 35, laughed and said: “Oh for sure,” while the rest of the crew were heard giggling, too.

But, Alex was clearly unimpressed as she said: “What are you talking about Jermaine?!”

Jermaine then said: “I was just like throwing it out there…” But Alex wasn’t shy to show her disappointment as she shook her head and visibly cringed.

But, ever the professional, Kaley took the question on the chin and said: “No, I understand. The show is so popular I… Going into my next project I, when I started freaking out about the comparisons there would be or what my project would be I realised you can’t compare anything to Big Bang.

“It has its own entity. I will never have that again. I will never have that cast again. The money, the schedule… 12 years, all of it was insane.

“But, if I can accept that nothing will compare to that I can’t control what other people were gonna say about me but, I knew my next project was gonna be about me and I was gonna leave that kind of in its own place, do you know what I mean?”

Actress Kaley is set to star in a new comedy-thriller, The Flight Attendant, which launched on HBO Max late last year in the US.

The eight-episode long series focusses on Cassie, played by Kaley, who wakes up in bed with a dead man after a luxurious night on the town—and no idea what happened.

It is based on the novel of the same name by New York Times best-selling author Chris Bohjalian.

The series, which picked up two Golden Globe nominations, has already been released in the US and is now set to land on UK TV screens from 19th March 2021 on Sky One and NOW TV.

Kaley previously shared her fears the show wouldn’t be well received by fans as she told TV Line: “All that went through my mind for the past three-and-a-half years since I optioned this book is, ‘Oh my God, am I making a mistake?’

“Are people going to hate this? Are they going to love it? Oh God, this is so bad, what am I doing? Why am I doing this?’”
