Uma Thurman, 51, will open up to Graham Norton about her “anxiety” at having to wear the iconic yellow tracksuit in Kill Bill after she had just given birth to her son. The star is a guest on the BBC show to speak about her new thriller series Suspicion.
The actress explained that wearing a “skin-tight onesie” after having just given birth was not a pleasant experience.
Uma wore the get-up in the classic Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill, which came out in 2003.
This was shortly after her son Levon Hawke was born in 2002.
She also spoke to Graham about her other roles including in the upcoming Super Pumped.
She said: “I really didn’t want to wear the yellow tracksuit.
“I had just had my son and anyone that has just had a baby is not going to want to wear a skin-tight onesie, they would have a lot of anxiety.
“So, there was a lot of training, a lot of work, and a lot of brilliant costume work recreate the look of Bruce Lee while covering my belly!”
Uma also spoke to Graham about playing Arianna Huffington in Super Pumped.
The star said that while she was “fantastic” and “brilliant” to play, it was a daunting experience.
She explained that she had to call up Arianna and ask for her permission before playing the role.
Uma Thurman was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 29, 1970.
She began modelling in her teens but made her first film in the 1987 thriller Kiss Daddy Goodnight, also starring Steve Buscemi.
Uma sought solace in acting at a young age after struggling with her image and cruel comments about her appearance from classmates at school.
Uma was Oscar-nominated for her role in Pulp Fiction as the vampish Mia Wallace, which also saw her profile soar.
She went on to star in Les Miserables, The Producers, Nymphomanic and The House That Jack Built.
The mother-of-three has been married twice, first to Gary Oldman in the early 90s followed by Ethan Hawke between 1998 and 2005.
Uma’s new thriller show, Suspicion, is released today.
The plot follows the son of an American businesswoman after he is kidnapped from a hotel, and four witnesses are questioned.
The cast stars Uma Thurman in the role of Katherine Newman, the businesswoman in question.
Other roles include Kunal Nayyar as Aadesh Chopra and Georgina Campbell as Natalie Thompson.
The show is an English-language thriller based on Israeli series False Flag.
Suspicion airs on Apple TV+ on February 4 2022.
