Strictly Come Dancing star Zara McDermott has said that she is "struggling" to spend time with her boyfriend, Sam Thompson, as a result of her schedule for the programme.
The former Love Island star, who is dancing with Strictly pro Graziano Di Prima, has admitted that they are training for 11 hours a day as they look to progress through the competition.
She also confessed that due to Sam having a radio show in the evenings, when she finally gets home from rehearsals, she is left to practise either on her own or with their cats.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the 26 year old said: "Sam does his radio show every evening, so when I come home from training, he's at work so I rehearse on my own or use one of the cats.
"But he has been amazing… we talk all the time on the phone, especially because I'm at rehearsals a lot."
She then added: "He is always at the end of the phone if I need to chat, and he's super supportive. He's very positive."
Last week, a source exclusively told OK! that Zara is putting "all of her energy" into the dancing show, as she is "determined" to win the glitterball trophy in December.
However, they also added that Sam has been "so supportive," and he knows that Strictly has been a dream for her.
They explained: "Zara is putting all her energy into this show. She’s so ambitious, and she’s determined to win.
"She’s going overtime with rehearsals, so she won’t be at home as much. A lot of their time is being taken up with their careers – it’s healthy, and it works for them.
“Sam is so supportive of Zara, as she is him. He adores her and will do anything for her. He knows that Strictly is her dream, and it’s one of the biggest shows on TV."
On Saturday, 30 September, Zara and 29 year old Graziano danced a Quickstep, and managed to impress the judges and gained a score of 23 out of 40.
However, their dance had a special meaning to the documentary star, as the Quickstep is the dance that her grandparents used to do together when they were dating.
Zara's grandparents were in the audience to watch the special moment last night, as Zara's mum Karen confirmed on social media before the live show.
She penned: "We're taking my parents to the show who are both nearly 90!
"Back in their younger days when they were courting they used to dance the quickstep, so seeing their granddaughter perform this on Strictly is something they never dreamed would happen (and nor could we!)"
