Philadelphia-based brand Austen AG has teamed with Jimmy Gorecki‘s JSP for a “South Philly Wallride” collection. Made up of hoodies, tees, sweatpants and shorts, the “South Philly Wallride” offerings feature a skeletal take on a famous Skateboarder Magazine cover photo of Gorecki performing a wallride at South Philadelphia’s 11th and Christian skate spot.
Austen AG’s stripped-back illustration of the photo reduces everything to its essence, turning Gorecki to a skeleton and highlighting the textures of the brick wall he’s riding on. The graphic appears across high-quality maroon and gray hoodies and sweatpants plus black shorts and tees, all of which are made domestically at Gorecki’s Standard Issue Tees production facility in Vernon, California. Select pieces also feature a co-branded Austen AG and JSP hit.
“Austen’s highly recognizable skull caricatures have always been so cool to me because so many old vintage skateboards utilized similar skull make and skeleton [graphics],” Gorecki told HYPEBEAST.
The Austen AG x JSP “South Philly Wallride” collection is available now via the Standard Issue Tees webstore. Sweatpants and hoodies are priced at $120 USD, while shorts arrive at $95 USD and tees at $40 USD.
