Aviation and Breitling have long been associated since the turn of the 20th century. A brand with such a long history undoubtedly has its own arsenal of hallmarked creations. Among the Swiss luxury watchmaker’s many time-telling icons, the Avenger was designed to be used inside jet cockpits to assist pilots. Now, Breitling has unveiled an updated collection for the model, comprised of a chronograph, an automatic GMT, and an automatic.
Available in black, blue, green, and sand colorways, the Avenger B01 Chronograph comes in a 44 mm-wide stainless steel build. Each color option features a different hue on the dial and is accentuated with three black subcounters. Framing the dial is a unidirectional and ratcheted bezel that complements the handset and indices. In addition, a ceramic version going by the name of Night Mission is also available. Viewable from the open caseback is the Manufacture Calibre 01, the COSC-certified chronograph movement that keeps the watch running for up to 70 hours continuously.
Elsewhere, the Avenger Automatic GMT also comes in a 44mm case size and is offered in only blue and black color options. Its bidirectional and ratcheted bezel is embellished with a 24-hour indication, complete with screw-locked crowns. Operating on Breitling’s own Calibre 32, the Avenger Automatic GMT operates with a 42-hour power reserve.
The Avenger Automatic is presented in a slightly smaller 42mm case diameter. It’s powered by the in-house Calibre 17 with a power reserve of 38 hours. Similarly, this model is also offered in black and blue, with an additional green colorway.
The assortment of watches is accompanied by military-style leather straps or stainless-steel bracelets. Although a pilot watch by nature, all models are equipped with a water resistance of 300 meters. For more information regarding pricing and availability, head over to Breitling’s official website.
