Clare Waight Keller Launches New Line With UNIQLO

From Givenchy to Chloé, Clare Waight Keller has been a powerhouse in fashion with her range of revered house experiences alongside the many celebrated figures she’s dressed. But now the British fashion designer is taking her skillset to UNIQLO to craft a new womenswear line.

Entitled UNIQLO:C, the new line is set to bring Waight Keller’s refined, yet versatile palette to the UNIQLO universe, which has also worked with the likes of Jil Sander, JW Anderson and more. The line’s debut is oriented for the Fall 2023 season and consists of 30 pieces across outerwear, tops, skirts, dresses and more.  “I wanted to bring the essence of what I do: fluidity, movement, femininity—those were really key,” Waight Keller told Vogue. “But I also wanted to bring my sort of British sensibilities—the fact that I’ve always loved a little bit of this boy-meets-girl style, and the idea of attitude dressing.”

Aside from her creative director experiences, the new line under UNIQLO’s umbrella is perhaps the designer’s largest exposure to date – especially for a mass market. But with the new venture, the designer is utilizing her past experiences to craft something completely new, yet familiar. “The letter C…captured a lot of the things that I was talking about: people commuting living in the city, the fact that there is a real clarity to the palette, and this idea of casual, but also a sort of cheekiness,” said Waight Keller.

Claire Waight Keller’s UNIQLO:C is set to make its global debut in-store and online on September 15.
