Clive Sutton is a U.K.-based U.S. car importer, known for bringing fans of American muscle cars machines that aren’t typically sold in Great Britain. Now, it has unveiled its take on the Ford Shelby GT500, introducing the CS850R.
Taking the regular V8 Mustang that is available in the U.K., Clive Sutton now offers a track-focused version of the U.K.’s most powerful Mustang, based on its own road-specific CS850GT Mustang. Indeed, this particular CS850R is a right-hand drive, answering the prayers of many Mustang owners who want something more powerful like those found in the States.
Speaking on the CS850R, Clive Sutton himself said: “Our bespoke Mustang program is popular with customers looking for right-hand drive high-performance Mustangs that outperform almost anything else on the road. Customer feedback we’ve gathered from our GT Mustang enabled us to fine-tune our offering to deliver a quicker, better handling car that provides more driver feedback… and even more smiles!”
The CS850R packs 847 BHP, coming from a highly-tuned five-liter V8 that’s fitted with a custom-tuned Whipple Supercharger, intercooler and a Quad Active XFORCE exhaust that together deliver 902Nm (665 lb-ft) of torque. Helping the Mustang cope with its newfound power are upgraded front and rear anti-roll bars, custom Vossen 20-inch wheels, uprated DBA brakes and Hawk pads, Pro Active shocks and linear springs — replacing the standard MagnaRide suspension unit — and shorter gear ratios.
Visually, Clive Sutton’s CS850R channels a real Shelby GT500 with its exaggerated body kit, sporting a new bumper lip, carbon fiber side rockers, and a carbon fiber rear valance that houses the quad exhausts. Color-adjustable tri-bar headlights, plus LED side and rear lights complete the car’s aesthetic, and the interior is fully customizable at the customer’s request.
The price for all of this is £121,000 GBP on the road — not bad for something that’d give most supercars a run for their money. Take a closer look at the car above, and find out more on Clive Sutton’s website.
Elsewhere in the automotive world, HYPEBEAST recently drove The New Range Rover SV and First Edition for Open Road.
