A fresh face will appear on EA Sports FC’s cover, and it’s none other than Man City’s goal machine Erling Haaland, according to a new leak.
While there’s still a few months before EA Sports FC officially launches, allegedly at the end of September, a flurry of leaks has recently emerged.
With no official trailer and only a few sneak peeks, it’s only natural that fans’ curiosity is at an all-time high – especially now that EA is ditching the FIFA branding entirely.
Well, another leak has just dropped revealing the cover star of the upcoming football game, and it’s a face you’re likely very familiar with: Erling Haaland.
The leaker claimed they have seen the EA Sports FC cover artwork, though they have refrained from sharing it on social media due to copyright restrictions.
‘In order to respect copyright, we have chosen, as the editorial staff of Dealabs Magazine, not to share it. […] We can now reveal the name of this football star, having won his first Champions League title this year. Yes, yes, it’s indeed Erling Haaland, star player of Manchester City!,’ Dealabs Magazine reported.
According to the publication, Haaland will be captured in the heat of the game, on the verge of smashing a goal into the net.
While FIFA 23 cover stars Kylian Mbappé and Sam Kerr also featured on the game’s Ultimate Edition artwork, EA Sports FC is taking a different route.
Haaland will be joined by an elite squad of 30 male and female football stars, making the Ultimate Edition a star-studded affair, the same source said.
Should the leak prove accurate, it will signify Haaland’s first time on the cover of a football gamer. As for the footballer who boasts the most FIFA cover appearances, it’s none other than the iconic former Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney.
Additional details about EA Sports FC are expected to come later this month, meaning that an official reveal is likely only weeks, if not days, away.
