Over the years, Medicom Toy has successfully connected with franchises, artists and brands alike, outfitting its iconic BE@RBRICK’s in collaborative looks. Recently, this has included a Concepts “Orange Lobster”-themed launch and a project with Livestock that decorates the figures in a camouflage nodding to the retailer’s home of Canada. Now, Medicom Toy has tapped American artist Eric Haze for 400% and 1000%-sized BE@RBRICK’s that celebrate the opening of his solo INSIDE OUT exhibition at SAI in Miyashita Park in the heart of Shibuya.
Previously, Haze teamed up with Jimmy Choo, Poggy and Medicom Toy for a unisex collection and BE@RBRICK. In his latest work with Medicom Toy, Haze’s star design appears at the figure’s chest while his signature cloud logo lands on the back. The white chest of the figure has an ombré effect from white to black at its hands and waist, solidifying in the darker shade at its legs. Most notably, the heads of both the 400% and 1000% editions are translucent, with the 1000% utilizing a slightly darker shade. Adding to this, shapes that include his star design in black and personal logo in white rest within the head.
Pre-sale for the Eric Haze x Medicom Toy BE@RBRICK 400% and 1000% begins December 9 at the INSIDE OUT exhibition at SAI. The sale will continue through December 25 and then see a full launch via Medicom Toy and select retailers afterwards. Retail prices are set at ¥35,200 JPY (approx. $258 USD) for the 400% size and ¥162,800 JPY (approx. $1,191 USD) for the 1000% version.
