Gal Gadot has revealed the brutal toll of filming intense fight scenes for her recent Netflix movie Heart of Stone, describing her painful injuries.
The Israeli actress, 32, stars as Rachel Stone in the action thriller, released at the beginning of August, alongside Jamie Dornan, Sophie Okonedo, and Alia Bhatt.
Heart of Stone follows the story of the titular Stone, also known as Nine of Hearts, as she tries to keep an artificial intelligence system out of evil hands.
Known to everyone as Wonder Woman, Gadot has now admitted that the extent of her injuries has caused members of the public to stare at her when in public.
‘I had plenty of bruises. I remember one Sunday I was walking with the girls in the park in London and someone looked at me weird,’ she explained.
Speaking to The Sun, she gave more details about her injuries, saying: ‘I was wearing a summer dress, oblivious to the fact my legs and back were completely bruised.’
The Fast and Furious star said that her injuries drew some unwanted attention from people: ‘I was with my daughters and people were looking at me like something was off.’
Despite the difficulties, Gadot stressed that bruises – and four damaged discs in her back – are simply an occupational hazard of the physical roles she takes on.
Revealing that she also has two neck herniations and two back herniations, she said that fighting and combat are two things she enjoys about shooting movies.
Heart of Stone received overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics despite its initial success on Netflix, topping its internal movie charts upon release.
Gadot has recently finished filming her role as the Evil Queen in the next movie in the series of Disney remakes, Snow White, set for release in March 2024.
Earlier this month, the Wonder Woman actress revealed that a third instalment of the DC Comics films will be coming to cinemas in the foreseeable future.
She told Comicbook: ‘I love portraying Wonder Woman. It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard – we’re going to develop a Wonder Woman 3.’
Heart of Stone is available to watch on Netflix.
