Girard-Perregaux Set To Drop Full 18K Pink Gold Laureato With Onyx Dial

Girard-Perregaux is pairing a new 42mm 18K pink gold Laureato with a black onyx dial.

The handcrafted stone dial requires 15 separate processes to achieve its mirror-like finish, which is further contrasted using applied pink gold hour markers and logo and tone-matched hands.

While subtle tweaks have been made to Girard-Perregaux’s sports luxe classic since its launch in 1975, this fifth generation design has been in place since 2017.

Upon its release, the Swiss brand’s classic was originally known simply as the ‘Quartz Chronometer’ before being christened Laureato – or graduate – by its Italian customers. Today, only the collection’s 34mm models carry a quartz movement and this variation is powered by the in-house 4Hz GP01800-1404 automatic movement.

This model drops in September via Girard-Perregaux retailers, priced $54,300 USD.

Elsewhere in watches, independent Czapek & Cie moves into a bigger home to cope with demand.
