Hiroshi Fujiwara, the godfather of streetwear, has officially announced the opening of his FRAGMENT UNIVERSITY.
The project is set to teach Fujiwara’s business skills and method of “non-verbal marketing.” His students, which will be limited to 50 and selected through a preliminary screening, will learn a curriculum comprised of the likes of the designer’s input techniques, ideation, collaboration techniques and more. The lectures on marketing methods will be based on real-life experience, and students will also be attending special lectures with guests from companies that have partnered with the fragment design founder in the past, such as Nike and Starbucks.
Prior to FRAGMENT UNIVERSITY’s October 11 opening, an open campus will take place on July 30 where the first 300 people can experience one of the lectures free of charge at the Ito Hall of the University of Tokyo.
The study period at FRAGMENT UNIVERSITY will span half a year with a tuition fee of ¥132,000 JPY (approximately $930 USD). Check out the official FRAGMENT UNIVERSITY website for more details.
