ITV 'splashes out on I'm A Celeb promo' for Ant McPartlin's return

He was replaced by Holly Willoughby in last year’s series after taking a break from work commitments following a drink-driving conviction and addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs.

But bosses are allegedly keen for Ant, 43, to be reunited with Declan Donnelly in the jungle later this year, according to The Sun.

The trailer, filmed at a London studio, apparently shows Ant and Dec battling the elements in a boat as they set sail to Australia.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Ant and I’m A Celebrity’s reps for comment.

Last March, Ant was caught over twice the legal alcohol limit when he crashed his Mini into another Mini and a BMW.

Days later, the beloved TV star pleaded guilty to drink driving, received a driving ban for 20 months and was fined £86,000.

Ant addressed the crash in an in-depth interview with The Guardian, with Dec, 43, calling drink-driving ‘indefensible’.

The star, who is dating his former PA Anne-Marie Corbett, said: ‘It wasn’t until I’d gone away and rested that it kicked in.

‘I was having sleepless nights. The shame and guilt were horrendous. Whatever state I’m in, drink-driving is an inexcusable act.’

Following the crash, Ant took a leave of absence from all work duties, leaving Dec to host the last episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway solo for the first time ever.

He made a triumphant return to our screens earlier this year to host Britain’s Got Talent.
