Sir Jony Ive KBE, the infamous former Chief Design Officer at Apple, and his team at creative collective LoveFrom has revealed the new official emblem for the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. The new Coronation emblem may now be used with immediate effect on all activities associated with the Coronation including community and national events, publications, retail, and official merchandise.
Paying tribute to The King’s love of the natural world, the symbol was designed with the flora of the four nations of the United Kingdom — the rose of England, the thistle of Scotland, the daffodil of Wales, and the shamrock of Northern Ireland — which form the shape of St. Edward’s crown. Colors used include the red, white, and blue of the union flag.
““The emblem speaks to the happy optimism of spring and celebrates the beginning of this new Carolean era for the United Kingdom,” says Ive. “The gentle modesty of these natural forms combine to define an emblem that acknowledges both the joyful and profound importance of this occasion.”
King Charles III is set to be crowned during the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6. More details on The Coronation Emblem can be found here.
