Perched above the iconic Sunset Strip, the Hollywood Regency-style townhouse is much more modest than the famously extravagant piano player’s 28-room Beverly Hills mansion that brought comparisons of Versailles Palace, but that isn’t to say the townhouse is lacking in any capacity.

Per Robb Report, the 2,400-square-foot property is part of The Shoreham, a complex first built in 1937 by MGM to house its stars. The Shoreham has hosted nearly anyone you can think of when it comes to the Golden Age of Hollywood, from the likes of Katharine Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich, and Ava Gardner. Before Liberace called the Sunset Strip townhouse home, it was owned by Barbara Sinatra, the model and fourth wife of Frank Sinatra.

Although the condo has had some modern updates, it still retains much of its Old Hollywood flourishes, including herringbone-pattern walnut floors, French doors that open up to a private courtyard, and a 1930s marble fireplace. And, unlike the rest of the other units at The Shoreham, Liberace’s former pad boasts a 2,000-square-foot private roof terrace. Can you imagine the soirées Liberace must have thrown here?

Liberace, a famous pianist, singer, and actor, had a decades-long entertainment career. His performances were absolute spectacles, and his bold fashion choices and bejeweled pianos made him the legend that he is today. Whoever ends up living in this townhouse will be able to say they’ve got their own slice of Hollywood history. Be sure to check out the rest of the coverage of Liberace’s ’70s townhouse over on Robb Report!

The front room still has the 1930s Old Hollywood marble fireplace. The bookcases were a more recent addition, but they make the fireplace a nice cozy reading space.

Even though this modern and chic bedroom might not scream Liberace, it still retains some of its old Hollywood charm and offers plenty of natural light.

  • A Private Rooftop Terrace

This easily has to be one of the best features of the Sunset Strip townhome. Unlike the rest of the properties, this condo is the only one to have a completely private rooftop terrace. While it looks modern and slick now, it is easy to imagine Liberace throwing one extragavant party up here during the ’70s.
