Michelle Obama's New Passion Project Is Here

If you’re anything like us, you’ve been waiting not so patiently for Michelle Obama’s latest passion project to drop. Well, friends, the time has come! The Creators for Change YouTube docuseries featuring our former FLOTUS drops today, and we’ve got your exclusive first look.

Directed by Joanna Forscher, Creators for Change on Girls’ Education see Obama sit down with YouTube creators Liza Koshy, Prajakta Koli (MostlySane) and Thembe Mahlaba (Pap Culture) to address the state of girls’ education around the world.

In the special, Obama’s Girls Opportunity Alliance aligns with these creators — as well as guests like Julia Roberts, Lana Condor, Ngô Thanh Vân (Veronica Ngo), and the Today show’s Jenna Bush Hager — on a journey through Vietnam, India, and Namibia. There, the women visit programs supported by the Alliance and speak with young girls fighting through incredible odds to pursue their education. Viewers will get a chance to learn about Room to Read (among other programs), a nonprofit that seeks to advance gender equality through educational opportunities for girls.

On ongoing global initiative, Creators for Change serves as a spotlight for stories and causes close to the hearts of the creators and luminaries who are featured. The idea? That by fostering dialogue around these issues, it might inspire others to take action, too.

You can also watch the trailer for the documentary here.
