Netflix has dropped a new teaser for the upcoming live-action series Cowboy Bebop. Titled “The Lost Session,” the short video features special edition footage from a separate adventure that will not be shown in the series.
The visual sees bounty hunter Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir) and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) battling a slew of enemies as part of a conquest for “a new bounty on the line.” The teaser shifts between scenes with colored effects and moving transitions while upbeat music underscores the action before Valentine interrupts the final fight scene by saying, “Hey nut buckets, there’s no payout if you shoot him in the face.” The visual concludes with comedic banter between Spiegel and Black, who bicker about who is at fault for losing the aforementioned payout.
Cowboy Bebop, which is based on the space-western anime series of the same moniker, also stars Alex Hassell and Elena Satine. In June, the streamer confirmed that the original Cowboy Bebop composer Yoko Manno will return to produce the soundtrack for the live-action adaptation. The original anime series’ director Shinichirō Watanabe has returned as a consultant for the project, working in tandem with showrunner and executive producer André Nemec.
The 10-episode first season will premiere on Netflix on November 19.
In case you missed it, Jamie Lee Curtis and Ryan Murphy are working on a a Netflix series about the man who gave the first high five.
