If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you know that in addition to getting free two-day shipping on your monthly supply of toilet paper you can also stream plenty of movies and TV shows for free as part of your subscription. And there are so many added each month. In October 2020, the new movies and TV shows on Amazon Prime include numerous Amazon original specials, movies, and series, a ton of classic movies from decades past, the return of NFL football, and a few extra special surprises.

This month, Amazon is unveiling the first half of its Welcome to the Blumhouse series of interconnected horror films. Co-produced by Blumhouse Television, the movies represent emerging and diverse voices in horror. There’s Black Box from director Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour Jr., The Lie from director Veena Sud, Nocturne from writer-director Zu Quirke, and Evil Eye from directors Elan Dassani and Rajeev Dassani and executive producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Amazon Prime Video is also offering previews of some of their premium channels this month, with select free content from the likes of Shudder, Sundance Now, Acorn TV, and more. Read on to find out a little more about some of the best movies and shows hitting Amazon in October, and to see their exact release dates.
