Designer, DJ, artist and artistic director Shane Gonzales has pretty much covered the gamut within the creative industries and now aims to heat things up with the relaunch of his “Midnight Rave” event and its supporting Midnight Studios collection.
The Southern California native first broke onto the scene in 2014 with his “Midnight” themed run of items, and quickly gained notoriety for his take on punk-inspired, unordinary menswear. And for Spring/Summer 2022, Gonzales presents a limited collection that evokes the iconic club scene circa Y2K and encompasses hoodies, sweat separates, T-shirts and accessories.
Stark colors including crimson red, black and white comprise the colorways, while catchphrases like “Hard to the Core,” “I Fell In Love At Midnight Rave” and “Junkies Sound Factory” are splayed across key items. As a designer, Gonzales has previously collaborated with the late Virgil Abloh, and as a photographer, he’s captured countless celebrities including A$AP Rocky, Gucci Mane and Skepta.
New York residents will have pre-access to shop the collection at the Midnight Studios Soho pop-up, before it becomes available to the public on April 30 at 9 p.m. PT. Additionally, more information on the brand, its new collection, and its Midnight Rave event in NYC can be found on its website.
In other news, the CFDA and ‘Vogue’ revealed its list of 2022 Fashion Fund finalists.
