Launching its first Fall ‘23 collection, STAMPD unveils a monochromatic capsule titled “ARTWORKER,” inspired by and featuring works from Vincent Van Gogh.
One of the standout works featured in the collection is Van Gogh’s Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette, which shows up in five of the nine tops in the capsule. Painted during his art academy years in Antwerp, the work is thought to be a juvenile joke by many critics, although some see it as a Memento mori, nonetheless, the work has now permeated popular culture — as seen in this latest release by STAMPD.
Other notable pieces include those that have transformed the artist’s penmanship into a neutral monochromatic script print. This distinctive print can be found on STAMPD’s signature swim trunks, bowling shirts, tracksuits and Transit tote, adding a touch of artistic flair to their travel uniforms.
STAMPD shared that in this latest collection, it had played with different colorways and fading techniques with some of its core fabrics, creating jerseys, flannels and cotton twills with subtle fade finishes “dedicated to a creative’s daily wardrobe.”
Those interested in acquiring the artistic yet utilitarian-inspired pieces can shop the collection at STAMPD’s La Brea store or at its official online site.
