The Heron Preston x BAPE Collaboration Epitomizes Streetwear Magic

Heron Preston and BAPE have teamed up for a limited-edition collaboration. The new pairing epitomizes streetwear magic by fusing popular American and Japanese dress notes.

To put forth a collection that presented new ideas, while also staying true to BAPE’s history, Heron Preston reimagines classics like BAPE’s Shark Hoodies, BAPE Camo, the APE HEAD logo and the BAPESTA sneaker. Starting out the collection are APE HEAD graphic t-shirts that pay homage to early screen printing designs. Next up is a workwear jacket and matching utility pants that feature BAPE’s yellow ABC camo and purple COLOR camo.

“This project is 8 years in the making. In 2015 I launched a project called ‘Street Sweepers’, where I hacked a Nike Air Force One, remixing it into 3 different brands that would normally never ever work together,” said Heron Preston. “I thought of this as an impossible collaboration and the dream was to give people what they were never supposed to have. In 2019, BAPE formally reached out to me, to turn that dream into a reality.”

A standout of the collection is the coveted BAPE full-zip Shark Hoodie in blue and green camouflage with matching sweatpants. Rounding out the collection is the BAPESTA sneaker that has been reimagined in Heron Preston’s signature orange hue. In addition to is leather and canvas construction, the silhouette is finished off with mismatched BAPE and Heron Preston labels.
