In order to garner more attention for their wealth of inline models, Nike and Jordan Brand will often dress them up in more classical and recognizable color schemes. This is the case for this forthcoming Air Jordan 1 Mid which has overtly borrowed the “Neutral Grey” palette that originated on the Air Jordan 1 Hi ‘85 and Air Jordan 1 Low OG.
The base layers of this colorway are constructed with a smooth leather build. A majority of the real estate is finished in pure white tone, while contrasting notes of a “Neutral Grey” coat the Swooshes, ball-and-wings logos, collars, interior lining and the Jumpman hits on the tongues. To take its vintage vibe even further, the Jordan design team splashes the midsoles with a creamy exterior to mimic the aesthetic of aged sneakers. Stacked down below this layer is an outsole that is dialed to the same accenting grey as its upper half.
No release info has been announced just yet, but it’s likely that these will be released in the coming months.
In other news, a Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High OG “Chicago/Neutral Grey” sample has emerged.
