As we approach mid-spring, brands are beginning to ramp up releases of different breathable slip-ons. Leading the charge is Suicoke, which works with Vibram to develop some of the most comfortable and sought-after sandals in the game. Following collaborations with Marsèll and Alanui Dance, Suicoke reconnects with Norwegian lifestyle brand Tom Wood for two new takes on the Makö-S clogs and GGA strap sandals. The designs are the brainchildren of Tom Wood creative director Mona Jensen, who imagines comfortable, durable, and elegant walking shoes for the city.
The Makö-L mule is found in “Black” Nappa leather and “Green” cow suede colorways featuring an original footbed lined in Suicoke PU suede, running soles, and co-branded metal plates along the vamp strap.
Accompanying the mules are GGA-Vega sandals found in “Olive” and “Yellow.” The pairs incorporate the aforementioned performance rubber soles with three gloss-nylon straps offering ankle support. Hard plastics are switched out for gunmetal materials for the rear tabs, buckles, and strap tips to complete the design.
The collaboration will be available at Suicoke, Bodega, Feature, and Tom Wood webstores as well as select retailers globally on April 26. The Makö-L and GGA sandals are available for $443 and $385 USD respectively.
