Tracee Ellis Ross Channels Her Superstar Mom in the Musical Trailer For The High Note

We’ve always known that Tracee Ellis Ross takes after her superstar mama Diana Ross’s fabulous looks, but the trailer for the Black-ish star’s new movie proves that she’s just as gifted as her mom in another department: her singing ability. The High Note features Ross in a whole new light as she plays Grace Davis, a talented singer who hasn’t made new music in over a decade and keeps it safe by performing her biggest hits for fans. But when she’s forced by her manager (Ice Cube) to make a choice that could alter the course of her career, she teams up with her assistant Maggie (Dakota Johnson) to shake things up and record new music that could take them all to new heights.

Helmed by Late Night director Nisha Ganatra, the film’s trailer promises some original songs, outrageously stunning outfits (that yellow dress and blazer combo!), and an amazing story about two women working together to achieve glorious success. Watch it all go down in The High Now, now available to rent on Amazon Prime Video!
