Zaha Hadid continues to take over the Chinese landscape after the announcement that her Daxia Tower in Xi’an receives landmark status. Now, Zaha Hadid Architects travels to China’s Jiangxi River, which provides essential travel routes across the Southern border.
The Jiangxi River flows across Yushan County, moving into Central China’s Poyang Lake. Zaha Hadid Architects has unveiled its Jiangxi River Bridge, the first in a series of projects through Chengdu’s West Line Road. The architectural masterpiece makes on-road travel swift and easy, extending onto opposite river banks and creating road, cycle, and pedestrian walkways.
The 295-meter bridge is designed with curved steel arches and a futuristic feel, while horizontal baselines complete the structure with flattened perimeters. The Jiangxi River Bridge is held tight by stabilizing wires that brace against strong winds, seamlessly integrating with nature.
