Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom seems to be bringing back more classic enemies

A retro enemy that’s barely appeared since the original Legend Of Zelda has been spotted in Tears Of The Kingdom’s newest trailer.

It was already widely speculated that The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom would feature series villain Ganondorf as the main antagonist, with the latest trailer including what is most likely voiced dialogue from the King of Evil himself.

It makes perfect sense for Ganondorf to appear since his more bestial alter ego, Ganon, served as the final boss of The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.

However, eagle eyed fans who’ve been poring over the newest trailer believe they’ve spotted another classic Zelda enemy that has rarely been seen since the very first game in 1987: Gleeok.

It’s a bit hard to make out but during the early portions of the newest trailer, but at about the 30 second mark, you can see what looks like a three-headed dragon standing on a bridge, with each of its heads appearing to be alight with flames.

While it could be a brand new enemy altogether, its similarities to Gleeok have fans thinking that it’s instead a new iteration of the monster. It’s certainly plausible given Breath Of The Wild went back to use the original game as its primary influence, in terms of both gameplay and enemies.

Gleeok has since appeared in a couple other Zelda games (the most recent being 2007’s The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass), but all its subsequent appearances were with only two heads, making its reappearance here something of a return to form.
