THERE'S some roarsome news for dinosaur fans as Aldi is selling a dinosaur-shaped Easter egg costing just £2.99 – half the price of M&S's version.
"Danny the Dinosaur", as he's been affectionately named by Aldi, is a 200g hollow milk chocolate treat.
But he's a real steal compared to M&S's milk chocolate, slightly scarier looking, "Spiketail" version that costs £6 for 205g – although that does include some white chocolate "dinosaur eggs".
The tasty treats were spotted by shoppers on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.
Someone on the group initially posted the M&S version but that lead to savvy bargain hunters pointing out that a cheaper version was available in Aldi.
M&S's version has a whopping 1,060 calories in total. The Sun has asked Aldi to confirm how many calories is in its dinosaur and we'll update this story as soon as we get a response.
Both chocolates will be available in stores across the UK. Aldi has 800 stores, while M&S has 1,035. Use Aldi and M&S store locator tools to find your nearest.
An M&S spokesperson said: "Spiketail the dinosaur is a much-loved member of our fabulous Easter egg collection, which starts at just £2.
"It’s made with creamy milk chocolate and comes with five delicious milk chocolate dinosaur eggs for both children and big kids to enjoy."
Aldi is also selling a Danny the Dinosaur cuddly toy with a milk chocolate Easter egg for 200g, which contains 708 calories, as well as 85p 35g chocolate dinosaur lollies.
But Aldi and M&S aren't the only supermarkets to be getting in on the action.
Asda is selling a smaller and pricier milk chocolate dinosaur egg that weighs 140g and costs £3.50. It contains 739 calories.
The supermarket is also selling a cuddly dinosaur toy accompanied by a 45g milk chocolate egg that costs less than Aldi's at £3. It contains 252 calories.
Meanwhile, Tesco has a 200g "Doug the Dinosaur" chocolate treat for a pricier £3.50. It contains 570 calories.
An adult man should eat around 2,500 calories a day, while a woman should consume 2,000, according to the NHS.
