Ariana Grande made her American Vogue cover debut on Tuesday, and dropped a brand-new music video to go along with the intimate interview.
The singer, 26, enlisted staffers from the team to style her for the “In My Head” visuals, which strips Grande down to just the essentials: her waist-grazing ponytail, thigh-high boots, an oversized, bedazzled puffer jacket and her stunning vocals.
In the just-released video, Grande sings and dances alone in a white box, wearing a coat straight off of cult-favorite fashion brand Area’s fall 2019 runway that features comically oversized sleeves, crystal embellishments and zipper details.
The brand told Page Six Style that it will retail for $2,450 and is made of “techno duchess satin” and Preciosa crystals.
In one scene, disembodied Grande-style ponytails and thigh-high boots serve as the star’s backup dancers, complementing the song’s surreal lyrics and the clinical setting. The video was produced by Vogue and styled by Vogue.com fashion editor Jorden Bickham.
On the magazine cover, Grande wears a black Dior dress with an oversized hat by Eric Javits ($450) and poses on the beach with her famous dog, Toulouse.
During the interview, Grande ripped off a pair of ultra-high platform Sergio Rossi boots to talk with the author, though she wasn’t sure what the label is. She “knows about music,” she said, and “not about clothes.”
She’s clearly setting trends anyway — and sticking to her favorites.
