She had also written on shows including Justice, The Bernie Mac Show, Eli Stone and Charley.

So, she was well known in the industry and this would have helped to build up her wealth over the years.

However, Power is likely to have been the show to have contributed to her wealth the most over this time.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Kemp has a fortune of an estimated £21.9 million ($30 million).

As Power has grown in success, so too would her wealth over time and this is only likely to go up.

Power Book II: Ghost marked the first of several spin-offs from the franchise and proved so popular it received an early season two renewal from Starz.

Excitement is now mounting for the next spin-off Power Book III: Raising Kanan, a 1990s prequel focusing on the eponymous drug dealer.

Raising Kanan is slated to premiere in summer 2021 with fans already eager for any news on the show.

There’s also Power Book IV: Force focusing on Joseph Sikora’s Tommy Egan and Power Book V: Influence with Larenz Tate’s dodgy politician councilman Rashad Tate running for New York governor.

Kemp is also likely to have other projects she wants to work on in the future alongside Power which again could see her profile soaring as well as her net worth.

Kemp has become a big name within the television industry and is building up the Power franchise.

One day, Kemp could wield as much clout as fellow female African American TV producer Shonda Rhimes whose production house Shondaland is a force to be reckoned with.

Addressing the inspiration for Power, Kemp previously said how she wanted create a black anti-hero and a show with lots of onscreen diversity.

She wrote in the LA Times: “I wanted to ask a question: What did it mean to be a black man in America after Obama was elected?

“Years later, given what’s happening in this country, it’s hard to remember what that was like — the feeling of hope, the feeling of forward momentum we had as a race with Obama in office.”
