Free streaming service trials to keep the family entertained during lockdown – The Sun

IN need of some new entertainment but don’t want to fork out a fortune?

Keeping the household amused and enthralled right now is proving tricky and many of us are trying not to spend on unnecessary buys.

If you’ve blitzed through your DVD box sets, bookshelves and music library over the last few weeks, here’s a list of free trials to get you through the next few weeks . . .

AMAZON PRIME: Whether you’re self-isolating or just can’t get out to the shops, if you sign up for Amazon Prime’s 30-day free trial, you’re sure to find what you need and more.
Purchases come with unlimited one-day delivery as well as access to Prime video and music. After your trial is up, you’ll be charged £7.99 a month, unless you remember to cancel your subscription.

KINDLE UNLIMITED: Find plenty of new reading material with a Kindle Unlimited subscription, which gives access to more than a million books, as well as magazines and audiobooks.
You can get two months for free if you sign up now, and once your two months are up it will cost £7.99 a month, so be sure to set a reminder to cancel if you don’t want to pay.

BRITBOX: If you’re after a binge-worthy box set, sign up to the 30-day free trial of BritBox, where you can stream the best British series from the BBC and ITV. After your trial it will cost £5.99 a month.

SPOTIFY: Whether you want backing singers for your vocals in the shower or a sassy girl band to accompany your baking, Spotify has music for all occasions. You can create an account for free, or to get rid of the ads, sign up for a 30-day trial of one of its premium accounts. After the trial it will cost £9.99 a month.

NOW TV: The service offers a choice of five passes, each of which comes with a free seven-day trial. There’s entertainment, Sky Sports and Cinema, kids’ TV and Hayu video streaming. The post-trial price depends on which you pick.
