A British mum who inspires other women with her fitness workouts and diet coaching has opened up about battling abuse from trolls online.
Lisa Kirwan – known as ThisFitMum online – became a viral sensation during lockdown after using her own body transformation to inspire other mums to embrace their sexiness through fitness.
The 34 year-old balances sharing her fitness advice with her 70,000 followers on TikTok and Instagram with parenting her two young children, as well as working in recruitment part-time.

But, despite developing a warm community of followers through her body-positive approach to being a mum, Lisa told the Daily Star that she still receives negative comments online because of the stigma surrounding mums being body-confident.
“My biggest TikTok about me having a photoshoot, which I think was just shy of one million views, I had so many comments on there like, ‘oh my god, I wouldn’t want to be your son’, or ‘could you imagine that as your mum?’” she said.
“I’m still a human, I’m still a woman, I’m still a person.
"Yes, the cringiest thing in the world is imaging your mum and dad, but ultimately mums and dads do that to make children and part of a healthy loving relationship is sex and feeling sexy.”
But, with her stripped back approach to prioritising body confidence, Lisa suggested that sharing her own body transformation had addressed these false preconceptions.
“The bottom of my stomach since having children, I always call it my ‘mummy pouch’, and I say that’s where I keep my wine and my chocolate, because I’m a fitness person who still likes to eat, and I still love a drink,” she laughed.
“I think I can be relatable to a lot of people; I don’t ever want to do bikini modelling or body building even though I’m surrounded by that a lot.

“So if mums are looking for a coach, are they going to go to somebody who’s lean and shredded to the point where they can be an elite bodybuilder, or is it more relatable if they’re actually being coached by a mum who does have a job and who does have two kids?”
Lisa’s journey started during lockdown when she filmed workouts while her children clambered over her.
She believes that by helping mums in a similar position improve their health, she can help families as a whole.

“I’m a big believer in me helping the mums, is also me helping the next generation, because monkey see, monkey do,” she explained.
“My clients send me pictures of their kids doing the workouts and eating the pancakes that we make… The mother is the core of the family, so if you’re teaching a mum, you’re teaching a lot of people.
“So I want to take over the world, basically, but for positive reasons. I want to be able to teach mums and kids and allow them to have the control that is taken away from them by the diet industry and social media.”
