I work at McDonalds – I wish people would stop ordering "chicken sandwiches"

A McDonald's employee has revealed the one item she hates people ordering because it will always be wrong.

Tris Marie, who posts online under the username @trissmarie, shared a video of herself reenacting a conversation she had with a customer at work, which she titled "what it's really like working at McDonald's."

In the clip, which has gained more than 35,000 likes, she was dealing with a customer who ordered the "cheapest chicken sandwich with just lettuce and mayo".

To which, she responded: “Alright, I got you one McChicken, is that it?”

However, the customer wasn’t happy with this and repeated her request, prompting Tris to confirm: "Ok well guess what, I don’t get paid enough to play stupid games with you.

"Our cheapest chicken sandwich is McChicken and guess what comes on it, ding ding ding, mayo and lettuce.”

But the customer insisted that was still wrong and said: “The customer is always right, I think you should just ring in what I said.”

So Tris put through the McChicken but when the customer saw it on the screen, they still had an issue with it and asked why she'd done that.

Tris answered: "Because again, that is what the sandwich is called. Is that everything?”

The conversation ended with the customer rudely replying: “Just know, if my sandwich is made wrong, I’m not paying for it.”

Other fast-food workers rushed to the comments on the TikTok video, claiming they had had to deal with similar situations at work.

One user wrote: "I work in fast food as well and this is so accurate."

Another added: "This happened to me so many times working at McDonald’s. I HATED it."

A third commented: "As a manager of a restaurant…I hate when customers think they know better than the managers or even the crew members. We work here 6 days a week.”

"The accuracy hurts more than my time working there," a fourth said.
